For this last episode of the blog series in 2019, we talked with Sandra, an amazing, talented and creative nail technician. She started her career way back in 2003 and since then, she never stops to amaze everyone with her amazing skills and creativity! Let's read more...
MG: When did you start your career? What do you enjoy most about doing nails?
I started my nail journey in 2013. So we are going on 7 years now! And I absolutely love it, what I enjoy most about doing nails is that every day it’s something different. Every client is different and I get to create different art and looks for different personalities.
MG: Who is your biggest inspiration for your nail technician career?
Oh gosh, I have so many nail friends that I have met (mostly on the Internet) over the past few years that inspire me so much everyday. But currently I have been inspired by Japanese nail artists. Their techniques are so beautiful and intricate, it’s mind blowing. I hope to one day succeed in that style of Nail Art.
MG: Why did you start the Instagram Channel? Did you ever imagine you will have so many followers?
When I was in nail school they recommended we start social media pages to show up for work and hopefully build some clientele that way. I honestly did not realize how great of a platform Instagram was until about 2 to 3 years in. That’s when I started gaining a lot of followers, being tagged or mentioned by other people and seeing other accounts that achieved the same goal.
MG: What's your favorite gadget/nail tool?
I’d have to say brushes. There are so many different shapes that are for specific techniques. You can never have enough of them!!!
MG: We can see that you are very creative! Do you have any favorite kinds of designs you like to create?
Yes, I love doing marble looks . And now companies have created certain products to make it looks so realistic, the possibilities and creations are endless.
MG: How many gels do you own? What are your 3 favorite gels from Madam Glam?
I would have to say there about over 300 polishes on my Polish Wall . And my 3 favorite Madam Glam polishes world have to be Ho Ho Holo, Maze & Iron Woman.
MG: Describe yourself using 3 emojis
MG: Which celebrity would be your dream client? Why?
Oh, I think I’d go with Missy Elliot. Her style is soooooo amazing! And her nails are always on point and over the top!
MG: Do you have any tip or advice to share with our community, younger and future nail techs or simply nail lovers?
I would say if doing nails is something that you absolutely love, do not give up. Because it does take some time to get to where you want to be, but it’s so worth it. And also don’t try to be like everybody else. Be you, your personality and how you want to be viewed will shine through. Have your own unique styles and perfect your craft!
