We had the opportunity to spend some time with Christina, known on Instagram as @macaronsbychristina while sampling her limited-edition macaron collection inspired by our 2022 Spring "Macaron" Soak-Off Gel Polish Collection!
MG: Hi! Please tell us a bit about yourself, so we can get to know you!
Hi! My name is Christina and I’m from New Jersey. I’ve worked in digital marketing for over a decade and I’m a macaron content creator on the side. I enjoy giving myself at-home manicures; there’s a 99% chance that my nails will be painted at any given time! I’ve been a loyal Madam Glam customer for several years now, so I was very excited to form a partnership last year. And now I’m even more excited for the new Macarons collection!
MG: Tell us how or when did you discover your passion for desserts and especially macarons?
I’ve enjoyed baking desserts since I was a kid. One of my first memories of being in the kitchen is baking cookies with my Mom. I had wanted to bake macarons ever since I tried my first one back in college, but was always intimidated because I’d read about how difficult the process was. I finally mustered up the courage about four years ago and my first batch was mostly successful! It’s been an amazing journey ever since that day - I truly enjoy baking macarons, and I dabble in other desserts as well.
MG: We’re obsessed with your IG posts! We love to see that you’re matching your Madam Glam gel manicure with your macarons. Baking and Manicures can be considered a work of art. How do you find that helpful in your work as a baker? Are nails and macarons your only passions?
Thank you so much! I absolutely love matching my macarons with my manicures. In the past, I’ve actually used my Madam Glam gel polish collection as inspiration for my tricolored macarons! Macarons and nails are definitely two of my passions, and I find that both have helped me further understand color theory. In my spare time, I also enjoy Zumba, playing board games, working out, cooking new recipes, binging TV shows and spending time with my husband, family and friends.
MG: What inspired you to create an Instagram account? Have you ever thought about becoming an inspiration to others when it comes to baking? What do you think your macarons say about you?
I started my macaron Instagram account a few months after I started baking them, mostly because I was posting photos of them way too often on my personal account. I had no idea that so many people would enjoy following my baking journey! I’m a self-taught home baker and have not received any formal culinary training. I want my followers to know that it’s completely possible to bake macarons in your own kitchen; I don’t want them to be intimidated by the process as I first was.
My goal is to share photos and videos that inspire my followers to experiment with baking and creating different types of macarons! Whether it be piping achievable character macarons, trying out various tie-dye color combinations, learning to hand-paint macarons, experimenting with piping multiple colors on one tray, or matching their macarons and manicures - anything is possible! I also want to say that I’ve made so many wonderful macaron and baking friends on Instagram - the baking community is amazing, and I’m proud to be a part of it.
MG: What is your favorite Madam Glam product?
I absolutely love the Madam Glam One-Step gels! They’re perfect for my busy schedule and the result is great.
MG: What is one professional goal you have for yourself?
I would like for one of my macaron photos to be featured in a food or baking magazine one day!

MG: Do you have any tips or advice to share with our community?
Baking tip: If you want to try baking something, GO FOR IT! Don’t let fear get in the way of something that will bring you so much joy, in addition to a delicious dessert!
Nail tip: I’ve been loving the trend of painting my nails 2-3 different colors at once! When creating these color combinations, I like to paint a tiny bit of each polish I’m considering on a piece of paper to see how the colors look near each other prior to starting my manicure.
