DIY Festival Nails x Femi Beauty
Need some nail inspiration for the upcoming festivals?
Festival nail art designs might not be top of our priority list when it comes to preparing for living in a field, desert, on a beach for three days, but you can't deny it looks pretty damn good. Practical? Not so much. Fun and super cool? Always!!!
When you're covered in mud, dust or your dancing your heart out, your hair or outfit might not hold it together for too long, so a brightly, fun, cool colored manicure is what keeps everything looking a little more festive! ✨
To candy acrylic tips and just the right amount of glitter, to some cool neon gels, there are many fun festival nail art designs and ideas that you have to try at least for once! What we can say is that, you can leave those ideas for a bit and try something cool and fun and also super easy to do, something that could work for both short and long nails too- chrome powders.
Madam Glam teamed up with our talented nail tech, Femi Beauty who really went for an unique, crazy and extravagant nail manicure! She played a little bit with our new chrome powders from “Candy” Collection, that we launched last week and here’s the amazing design- wow!
For this cool design, Femi used Flamenko chrome powder- a beautiful pink color with some nice and soft silver speckles. Before applying the magic powder, she used Pink & Gold Flakes gel.
“The new chromes from Madam Glam are really gorgeous and exceptional! I was able to achieve this perfect light pink chrome effect using the "Flamenko" chrome powder on top of "Pink & Gold Flakes" gel polish from Madam Glam!" - Femi
Let's get it started!
1. Apply a base coat, and cure it under the LED lamp.
Some nail artists also recommend coating the skin around your nails with white school glue or liquid latex. This will make cleaning up your manicure easier, because all you have to do is peel the glue or latex off! Please, when you apply the base coat, make sure you'll coat the tips of your nails too. This will prevent the gel from peeling!
2. Add two coats of our gel, then cure it.
Apply your first coat, then cure it. Apply your second coat, then cure it again. For this step, you can use any color you want, but many people find that black works best!
***As you can see in the picture, here's how our chrome powders( Volcano, Luna, Flamenko & Starz) look if you choose black or white gel. Lovely, right?
3. Apply a no-wipe top coat, and cure it for 30 seconds.
Check out what Femi said:
"Another essential step in having the perfect chrome application is Madam Glam's No wipe Top Coat! I felt that this chrome burnished in perfectly to this top coat simply using my finger. Before sealing in be sure to dust away any excess chrome. The top coat didn't create any bubbles or streaks when sealing in the chrome so I was able to achieve a really flawless chrome finish! I loved it!”
4. Chrome powder time!
Use a sponge eyeshadow applicator to tap on the powder. Don't worry if the powder doesn't look smooth. Simply dip your foam applicator into the powder, and start tapping it onto your nail. Start from the cuticle area, and work your way down towards the tip.
5. Clean it up with a soft brush or rubbing alcohol.
Grab an soft, fluffy eyeshadow brush or kabuki brush, and gently sweep the tops of your nails. This will knock off any excess powder. You can also use a thin brush or Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol to wipe down the ski around your nails. If you applied glue or latex in the beginning, simply peel it off!
With that being said, your nails are ready for the festival!
