Based in Paris, we had to have our nails talk this month with Marie Baillon! A make-up and Nail Artist who is mostly inspired and obsessed by ballet, new wave music, 90s fashion, 70s architecture, drag queen aesthetics, Frida Kahlo and anything that is shining! She loves to bring her talents to the world of fashion and advertising and she's also Vegan, exclusively using Vegan and Cruelty Free beauty brands!
MG: Hi! Please tell us a bit about yourself, so we can get to know you!Bonjour :) I am Marie, I am 33 and I've been a makeup artist for the past 8 years. I am lucky to call Paris “home”!
MG: What is one professional goal you have for yourself?I actually have many and if I had to choose one today, I would say “art director and image maker” of a big makeup brand.
MG: How would you describe Paris? Tell us what you love most about your city!
The weather (joking) I really feel that I live in the city of love, the fashion capital surrounded by the most beautiful architecture...INSPIRING PARIS!
MG: Tell us how or when did you discover your passion for nails?I remember that I used to wear very cheap press-on nails when I was less than 10. I always loved wearing nail polish before I even discovered I was into makeup! Then, I remember that one day, I wanted a special Nail Art design when I was 16 and didn’t find any nail technician who could do it, so from that moment I tried by myself!
MG: What is your favorite Madam Glam product?
I love the « Perfect Collection». The range of colors is perfect to create an 80s inspired look!
MG: If you were to choose between complex hand-painted Nail Art and a regular manicure, what would you pick?
It really depends on my mood. I can be very classy, and the next day boyish and the day after hottie so...
MG: What inspired your tattoos? What do you think your tattoos say about you?
I will say that my tattoos are related to moments. And for the style, I always choose the old school one because it is the only one I love. It really suits my state of mind!
MG: If you could time travel, where would you go and why?
I would love to go back to the 60s in LA, or the 80s in NYC, or in the 90s in Paris for the same reason for each era: the free state of mind, where everything was possible.
MG: Describe yourself using 3 emojis or words.
MG: Do you have any tips or advice to share with our community?
