Hi, glamorous! Tell us a bit about yourself!
Hi, I’m Leah. I’m a 22 year old UK based Nai Artist! I’ve been doing nails for just over a year now, so I’ve still got time to learn!

What made you choose a career in nails?
After being at University studying for a graphic design degree, I just felt out of place and with the current situation I just didn’t think I would get a job in that industry, no mind enjoy it. I had always loved doing my own nails and art came naturally to me, so I thought why not? And trained to be a nail technician. I wouldn’t look back! I absolutely love my job and my clients!

What do you enjoy most, and least, about your career?
I enjoy everything about my career, from being a brand ambassador for some wonderful brands and also working with amazing brands, to all my wonderful clients! The list is endless!

How did you manage to grow your Instagram and Youtube accounts and build a strong community?
Interaction is key, as well as consistency. With being in lockdown, it did really allow me to focus on Social Media! It’s hard sometimes, but you need to keep pushing on and don’t be afraid to have a break once in a while! Your followers don’t define you or pay your bills at the end of the day!

What popular nail art styles do you predict for this Summer?
I think bright color French Tips and Swirls are going to continue to be on trend this Summer! Who doesn’t love some bright holiday nails?

Is there a Nail Trend you wish would go away?
Off the top of my head I really can’t think of one, I love all the nail trends I see!

What else would you like people to know about what you do?
Well I offer lots of services and I’m also trained in quite a few. I’m trained in gel nails, acrylics and gel extensions. I’m also trained in lash extensions and lash lifts! I really want to train to do more, as I enjoy it so much!

Where do you get your inspiration from?
Instagram! Instagram is the best place for inspiration as there are so many talented nail technicians out there which spark most of my ideas and color schemes! Pinterest is also a good one!

What do you love most about Madam Glam?
I love how pigmented all of your colors are! I’m also not going to lie, they smell like jelly beans to me so that's an added bonus right there! I’m also in love with the brushes, they’re amazing for Nail Art as they’re so soft and thin making detailed work very easy!

What’s your top tip for making a manicure last longer?
There is lots to make a manicure last longer such as amazing preparation of the nail plate, remember this is your base to work on so if that isn’t done correctly, then nor will the rest of the work. I also find not flooding the cuticle area which can cause lifting, capping the free edge. Then after care is always essential, cuticle oils wearing gloves, etc can all help!

Which celebrity would be your dream client? Why?
I think any celebrity I would be in awe of so anyone really!

What is your favorite thing about the Nail Industry?
The nail community is honestly amazing! I’ve met so many lovely girls over this past year and I can’t wait to meet them all soon!

Do you have any words of encouragement for new nail technicians?
I’d say keep pushing on and put yourself out there, be different and charge your worth! It’s hard but everything works out in the end!
