Madam Glam introduces a new blog series willing to inspire not only future nail technicians, but beauty and nail lovers too. For episode 4, we talked about nails with Femi, our nail tech guru, an amazing and talented woman. We found out when and how she started her career as a nail tech, what inspired her and how she sees the nail industry.

MG: When did you start your career? What do you enjoy most about being a nail tech?  
I started doing nails as a hobby, back in 2013! 

MG: Who were the biggest inspirations for your nail technician career?  
I really loved watching Absolute Nails and LongHairPrettyNails on Youtube. As a fellow, unlicensed, nail artists, they inspired me to pursue this craft! 

MG: Describe yourself using emojis only!

MG: Do you have any tips for anyone looking to start doing more complex nail design?  

Practice as much as you can! I think I started seeing considerable improvement in my work after investing more time into practicing. 

MG: How do you think the nail industry will look like in the next 10 years?  

I hope that the trend of user-friendly nail enhancements and press on nails will continue! I have been really enjoying making press on nails with gel polish.  

MG: How many gels do you own in total? What are your 3 favorite gels from Madam Glam? 

That is a hard question! I would guess over 100 at this point. My favorite gels from you are:  My Crew, Cherry Party and Baby Blue! I use these all the time in my designs and the videos from my channel. 

MG: What is your go-to-manicure? Describe it.  

Definitely something using Madam Glam’s “My Crew” gel polish. And of course, some bling! This combo is a favorite for me and my friends and family. We love this on our toes too! 

MG: Which celebrity would be your dream client? Why?  
Nicki Minaj! I would love to slay her nails. I have been a Nicki fan since forever. Rihanna would be cool too. 

MG: Do you have any advice to share with our community, younger and future nail techs or simply nail lovers?  

Always believe in yourself! If it doesn’t work out the first time keep trying. The power of dedication, perseverance and patience are so real. Don’t hesitate to seek wisdom and learn new techniques. And lastly have fun, so you never get tired of this craft! ✨
