We will interview someone who is not a licensed nail technician, but has impressed us and our fans so much, that we thought she is a great fit for our series! Let’s meet Carito Yanez, a creative and amateur nail artist who loves nail stamping art and colorful manicures.

MG: Cuéntenos sobre su experiencia con el arte de las uñas? Cuándo comenzó a trabajar como artista de uñas? 

Lamento decirles que yo no soy técnico en uñas, esto lo hago por hobbie soy aficionada al arte en uñas. Hay personas que me piden que les haga manicura con pago, pero yo les advierto que he aprendido sola y no he hecho cursos de manicurista, ellas acceden y no tienen quejas de mi trabajo. Lo que más me gusta es la estampación, pero me encanta la técnica de one stroke que estoy aprendiendo de a poco. 
 
MG: Quiénes fueron / fueron las mayores inspiraciones para su carrera como técnico de uñas?

MG: Por qué empezaste el canal de Youtube? 

Porque el 2010 conocí la técnica de estampación y aprendí en grupos de Facebook y viendo vídeos de uñas en YouTube. En los grupos de Facebook me preguntaban como hacía esos diseños por lo que comencé a grabar mis diseños y aproveché de subirlos a YouTube. Y cómo vi que tenían buena recepción seguí haciéndolo. Comencé el canal el 2015 pero no tenía buena cámara, así que cuando cambié de celular (2016) comencé a subir 3 vídeos todas las semanas. 
 
MG: Tienes algún tipo de diseño favorito para crear? 

Flores, mariposas, plumas me encantan. 

MG: Cómo ve la industria de las uñas en los próximos 5 años? 

Yo veo mucho interés en las chicas de mi pais, estan están atreviéndose más a usar uñas con diseños y no de un solo color.  

MG: Cuántos geles tienes? ¿Cuáles son tus 3 geles favoritos de Madam Glam? 

Aproximadamente 71 geles en total, y de Madam Glam 15. Mis favoritos de Madam Glam son Pink & Gold Flakes, Mamma Mia y Gardenia.

MG:Tiene algún consejo para compartir con nuestra comunidad, técnicos de uñas más jóvenes y futuros o simplemente aficionados al arte de las uñas? 

Ser perseverante y hacer loque nos gusta sin dejarse llevar por discriminaciones. Yo soy maestra de música y religión y en mi trabajo es mal mirado que una profesional universitaria haga uñas y vídeos, pero no me dejo llevar por ese tipo de juicios. Todo trabajo es digno y más si se hace con amor y dedicación eso se percibe y se valora.

Pareciera algo muy superfluo, pero es increíble lo bien que se sienten las personas cuando la imagen de sus manos cambia todo su ser se siente más querido y se sienten biencon sí mismas. Nosotras tenemos esa responsabilidad de embellecer nuestras manos y las de las demás con amor y con los mejores productos. MG: Tell us a bit about your experience with nail art, when did you start working as a nail artist?  

I am a big fan of nail art and this is my biggest hobby. I have people around me that come do their manicure, even if I tell them I am not a licensed technician, I am a self-taught one. They still appreciate my work. What I really love the most is the stamping technique, but I also enjoy the 'one-stroke' one, which I am currently learning.   

MG: Who was your biggest inspiration ? 
@nailstamp4fun inspires me in creating manicures and videos.  

MG: Why did you start the Youtube channel? 

Because in 2010 I got to know the stamping technique, I learned it from various groups on Facebook and from YouTube videos. In the Facebook groups, I was sometimes asked how did I create certain designs, so I started filming my designs and uploading the videos on YouTube. I noticed I was receiving good feedback so I decided to keep going with it. 

I started my channel in 2015 but I still didn't have a good camera, so when I changed that, I started uploading up to 3 videos every week.  

MG: Do you have any favorite kinds of designs to create? 

I love flowers, butterflies and feathers.  

 
MG: How do you see the nail industry in the next 5 years? 

I am noticing lots of interest from the women in my country. They are interested more in having designs on their nails, not only 1 single color.  

MG: How many gels do you own? What are your 3 favorite gels from Madam Glam? 

I have 71 gels overall. I got 15 gels from Madam Glam. My favorites are: Pink & Gold Flakes, Mamma Mia and Gardenia. I love their formula!  

MG: Do you have any tip or advice to share with our community, younger and future nail techs or simply nail lovers? 

Be persistent and do what you like without being carried away by judgement. I am a teacher of music and religion, and in my profession doing nails and videos is not so well perceived, but I do not get carried away by this kind of judgments. Any type of work is worthy, and it's even more if it's done with love and dedication. This is what has value!
