For the second episode, we asked Taylor-Dane, an amazing nail tech to tell us more about the insights of her career and of the nail industry and of course, what inspired her along the way...

MG: When did you start your career? What do you enjoy most about being a nail tech?  

I started my nail career professionally, in 2014. Hmm...being a nail tech, I mostly enjoy doing nail art designs, pushing my creativity, seeing my clients reactions: The final results are always extremely amazing! 

MG: Nails have become a big focus in recent years. Why the interest?  

Yes, it has became a major focus in recent years! Even before nails became this popular, I’ve always loved watching my nail tech at the time doing nails and I still remember and have that happy feeling...I remember being so fascinated by it. 

MG: Who or what inspired you regarding your nail tech career?  

This one might surprise you...To be quite honest, my husband influenced me to start and follow the nail career. He saw the potential, the drive and the love I had for nails and art, even when I didn’t see it in myself. 

MG: Wife, mother, youtuber. How’s a day in your life looking like?  

Lol! It’s really not as hectic as it seems. Being a mom and a wife is first priority of course. Once my family is settled and organized, I use that extra time to record my YouTube videos. At this time, my son is either at school or asleep. I do not have a fixed day to record or edit my videos. As a mom I just use my extra time throughout the day to get it done. 

MG: What is your go-to style for a manicure?  

My go to style for a manicure will always be a French Ombré. 

MG: What's your favorite nail look you ever created? (describe it: colors, steps, designs, vision) 

This is a hard one. But if I have to choose a favorite nail look I’ve ever created I’d pick the rainbow rose using 5 different colored sharpie markers. The final result was just so stunning! 

MG: How many Madam Glam gels do you own? What are your 3 favorites? 

I own 75 Madam Glam Gel Polishes! First, I am in love with your No Wipe Top Gel.  Now, my favorite 3 gels from Madam Glam are: On My Way- is gorgeous, Aqua Blue- is also a favorite of my clients and Perfect Black- is the most pigmented black gel polish I’ve ever used! 

MG: Which celebrity would be your dream client? Why?  

The beautiful and talented Jamaican artist Shenseea. Why? Because she is one of my favorite musicians currently. Love her vibe and her songs!  

MG: Do you have any advice to share with our community, yours, future nail technicians or just nail lovers? 

Best advice I can give to a budding nail technician or a nail enthusiast is Never Give Up!!! No matter how difficult something may seem to master, keep practicing every little chance you get and soon... you will be the master of that once difficult task!
