MG: Hi! Please tell us a bit about yourself, so we can get to know you!
Hi! My name is Ashley Lane. I’ve lived in Eagle Idaho for two years now but I’m originally from Utah! I’ve been doing nails for 5 years! I have a Bachelors in PR and minor in marketing from Utah Valley University. In my spare time I like to workout, eat good food, read and travel.
MG: Tell us how you found your way into Nail World?
I’ve been into nail art since I was 12! I wanted to do nails but I was under the impression you had to go to cosmetology school and I wasn’t interested in doing hair. Once I found out you could go to school just for nails I couldn’t resist! About a year and a half after I got my license I was between jobs and I was offered a position as a nail artist at a salon. After working there for about a year I started my own business which I’ve had for 3 years now and I love it!
MG: What Nail Trends do you predict for 2022?
That’s a tough one! I’m hoping to see lots of purple, more negative space designs and deep French!
MG: What is/are your favorite Madam Glam product? Why?
I’d have to say the Art Gel Paint because it’s pigmented but not too thick! My favorite gel color is XOXO! It’s the perfect sheer brown color for a negative space design or deep French!
MG: If you were to choose between complex hand-painted Nail Art and a regular manicure, what would you pick?
Nail Art. Always!!!
MG: How do you hope to see your career grow in the next 3-5 years?
I really hope to be teaching and helping others! I love seeing other people succeed! Traveling to teach and demo products would be a dream!
MG: What inspires you more when it comes to Nail Aesthetics?
I like things that are different! I’m drawn to textures and nails that create an illusion. I also just love all the detail that goes into art, simple or complex!
MG: Who would be your dream-celebrity client? Why?
Hillary Duff! She just seems so genuine and I feel like she’d be so fun to hang out with!
MG: Name 3 nail products you can’t live without.
Protein bond, a structured base and a shiny top coat!
MG: What advice would you give to an aspiring Nail Artist?
Shadow or do an apprenticeship! Never stop learning! Surround yourself with people that inspire you!
